Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has been on fire to start the National Hockey League regular season and that trend continued on Friday night.
The Capitals were facing off against the New Jersey Devils and were already up one nothing when a Devils penalty led to a Washington power-play. In very familiar fashion the Capitals managed to get the puck to Ovechkin at the top of the face-off circle, and he burred it behind Devils goaltender Cory Schneider.
The Devils goalie never really had a chance with the puck going top shelf. just out of the reach of his blocker. and Ovechkin netted his 9th goal in just 5 NHL games this season.
