Perry gets dropped by a nasty spear from Ribeiro.

That's going to get looked at by the league.

Something tells me given the two players involved here this one will be reviewed by the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety.

On Thursday night during Game 4 of the first round playoff series between the Nashville Predators and Anaheim Ducks, Predators forward Mike Ribeiro delivered what has to be considered a deliberate spear right into the gut of Ducks forward Corey Perry, dropping him down to the ice.

No one can blame Perry for going down after taking this kind of blow to the abdomen, and given that he is considered one of the faces of Anaheim's franchise, and given Ribeiro's less than stellar reputation around the league, this could very well mean trouble for Rebeiro.

He was awarded a penalty on the play, and we have seen the NHL look the other way already this postseason when it comes to stick infractions, specifically the decision not to discipline Kris Letang of the Penguins, so we shall have to wait for the ruling to know for certain.
