Phaneuf and Smith drop the gloves in Game 4 of the playoffs!

The Ottawa Senators were basically out of it, so one of their leaders tried to send a message at the end of Game 4. 

On Thursday night veteran defenseman Dion Phaneuf went after Rangers defenseman Brendan Smith and the two engaged in a brief but hard battle in front of both team benches. 

It was clear Phaneuf was attempting to fire up his team for Game 5, and while he did manage to cut Smith during the fight, there's no way this lowers Rangers morale after a big win tonight over the Senators.
