Phil Kessel scores #300 on the breakaway in overtime!

Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Phil Kessel hit a major career milestone on Thursday night and you could not have written a better storyline with which for him to achieve it. 

Kessel entered overtime against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night with 299 career goals in National Hockey League regular season games and what better time for #300 than a sudden death overtime game winner? 

Unfortunately for the Jets forward Patrik Laine coughed up the puck in his own zone and that allowed Kessel to escape on the breakaway all alone, eventually beating goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to give his Penguins the victory. 

Kessel was immediately mobbed by his teammates after the play and came out of the pile red faced and seemingly out of breath after being crushed by the bodies of his fellow Penguins.
