You never want to see a player take a shot like this, but it's hard not to celebrate the unbelievable toughness of Florida Panthers winger Reilly Smith.

On Friday night Smith was the victim of a huge hit to the head from Anaheim Ducks defenseman Josh Manson, and while it's always risky to attribute intent to a player without being able to read his mind, this hit to the head from Manson did appear to be fairly blatant.

Despite the fact that you would expect such a hit to absolutely lay out Rielly, he instead showed incredible durability by bouncing back to his feet immediately and even remained coherent enough to make a play on the puck just a few seconds later.

While there was no call on the play, this is the kind of hit that could end up being review by the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety.
