A young Toronto Maple Leaf has just claimed a 73-year-old record as his own.

With an assist in tonight's game against the New Jersey Devils rookie William Nylander has now recorded at least one point in ten consecutive games , good enough for sole possession of first place in the Maple Leafs record books.

The original record was set by Gus Bodnar all the way back in December of 1943, and while both Bob Nevin and Dan Daoust had managed to match that feet, no one had managed to reach double digits.

It wasn't pretty, but Nylander has made that a reality.
