Shawn Thornton delivers by far the best trash talk of the playoffs.

So subtle and yet oh so good.

This was just an example of a wise old veteran taking advantage of the naivety of a younger player, it was also arguably the best example of trash talk we've seen thus far in the playoffs.

Florida Panthers forward Shawn Thornton has made a career off being a gritty, grinding, and annoying player who you love having on your squad and who you absolutely hate when he plays against your team. On Thursday night during Game 1 of the first round series between the Panthers and New York Islanders, the 38 year old found a very creative way to get under the skin of his opponent.

Thornton was hanging out in the middle of a scrum, being nice and peaceful, when he suddenly appeared to be curious about something. That something turned out to be the name on the back of the jersey belonging to 22 year old Islanders forward Ryan Strome, who did not take too kindly to Thornton's gesture. That being said, the troll job from Thornton was so good, that even Strome's own teammates couldn't help but chuckle with laughter.
