On the very same night and in the very same game that rookie forward Auston Matthews got his first as a Maple Leaf, veteran defenseman Shea Weber got his very first as a Montreal Canadien.
With his team already up by two goals early in the second period Weber decided to add to the beating of the Leafs by netting the Canadiens fourth goal of the evening.
It was a classic Weber point shot, one fired off a quick release, and while it was a nice goal it would also be fair to say that goaltender Frederik Andersen looked fairly weak on the play. It's unclear from the video, but there may have been a deflection from the skate of Leafs defenseman Matt Hunwick would would explain Andersen missing what looked like a routine save.
