Two goal night for Taylor Hall ends with hard knee-on-knee hit.

Fans in New Jersey are holding their breath.

New Jersey Devils star forward Taylor Hall was having a terrific night against the Los Angeles Kings, but that all came to a crashing halt in the game's third period.

Hall was the victim of a nasty looking knee-on-knee hit from Los Angeles Kings defenseman Kurtis MacDermid, and while he initially tried to shake it off he would eventually be forced to leave the game due to injury.

The blow from Macdermid did not appear to be a deliberate one, and was more than likely caused by Hall attempting to make a move around the big and powerful Kings' defender.

Nonetheless the intent, or lack of it, won't make fans in New Jersey feel any better if Hall is out for any significant length of time.
