Virtanen goes top shelf on Lundqvist

While the Vancouver Canucks ended up on the wrong side of a shootout loss against the New York Rangers this afternoon at Madison Square Garden, youngster Jake Virtanen gave Canucks fans something to cheer about. 

The 21-year-old notched his 3rd goal of the season, sniping a bullet over the shoulder of Henrik Lundqvist midway through the 2nd period. Check it out:

LASER BEAM! How great is it to see all these young Canucks filling the net this season? Obviously Brock Boeser has been the big story, but if Virtanen can heat up and if other young guys like Troy Stecher and Ben Hutton can start to make an impact, the Canucks could surprise a lot of teams later on in the season.
