Watch as this Red Wings fan dumps his beer on an NHL player.

A total lack of respect from this fan.

Everyone knows that emotions ride high when it comes to playoff hockey, and fans of the National Hockey League are some of the most passionate in the world, but even with that said there are lines you just don't cross.

One fan of the Detroit Red Wings crossed that line on Sunday when he got involved in an altercation between Tampa Bay Lightning player Brian Boyle and Detroit Red Wings player Justin Abdelkader. The fan in question scaled the side of the boards and glass, and hurled his beer onto the playing surface, hitting a bullseye on Boyle.

While I feel it's necessary to give props to the fan on the incredible accuracy he displayed, likely while intoxicated, to land that shot a fan should never throw anything at a player, even if it does seem relatively harmless like a plastic cup filled with beer. It's an act of total disrespect, one that no player who plays in the NHL should ever have to deal with.

The whole incident was caught on video, which may be bad news for the fan who threw the beer.
