Patrik Laine scored his 2nd of the night and winning goal in the third period right before closing the deal on his hat trick in an empty net. The Winnipeg Jets finally won the game 5-2 against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

By doing so, Laine became the first rookie player since Eric Lindros and Teemu Selanne to registered at least 3 hat tricks on his first NHL campaign.

"It's always nice to score," Laine said. "It was a huge game for me and my linemates and the whole team. These four last games haven't been that good, so it was just nice to have a game like this." said Laine.

"We had a serious meeting with the team after [a 4-1 loss against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday]. We just figured we have to work harder and just try to be simple on the ice. I think we managed to do that." said Patrick Laine.
