Watch: Matthew Tkachuk scores his first career goal!

Rookies have been on fire so far this season, so it made sense for a Flames rookie to score his first sooner than later.

Matthew Tkachuk scored his first NHL goal tonight for the Calgary Flames who are were taking on the Buffalo Sabres.

The goal is definitely one that Robin Lehner would like to have back but for Tkachuk, he will definitely take it. It was still a nice snap shot and might have caught Lehner off guard. Matthew has been pretty solid for the Flames so far so it was only a matter of time he score his first goal.

If he is anything like his father Keith Tkachuk, Matthew will be filling the net for a long time.
