Babcock gives his thoughts about the season

Mike Babcock as we know is a great hockey mind and an amazing coach. Recently he was interviewed by NHL.com to find out how he thought the season was going so far for the Detroit Red Wings. How he summed it up was great. "You wake up every day, you look at the standings, and if you don't have to turn the paper upside down to be happy it's a positive thing". That is a pretty simple observation but makes a lot of sense. Babcock went onto to talk about how Petr Mrazek has been playing some great hockey in replacement of Jimmy Howard and how Tomas Tatar has been playing well with Pavel Datsyuk and Darren Helm. He also talked about how they have had good depth and a great group of leaders. "I think we're a pretty good team," Babcock said. "Are we a great team? We're going to find out."
