Olli Maatta will return to the Pens lineup tonight when they take on the Montreal Canadiens.
Only two weeks after having had surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid tumor. So to put it into perspective, Maatta only missed 6 games after surgery. He also played up until he had the surgery even having been diagnosed. It is a very impressive display shown by the 20 year old. How many people can say they have gone through all of this, let alone keep playing and make a miraculous return to the lineup a mere 2 weeks after having the surgery to remove the tumor.
Maatta's return will provide a huge boost to the team. I think we can all say that we are very impressed by Olli's mental toughness and his will to fight through all of this and to be able return to the lineup so quickly.
Welcome back Olli!
