Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun is asking some burning questions about the Flames. Who will step down? When David Jones comes back from injury, someone else will be out of the lineup. Two players with two-way deals are Johnny Hockey (Goudreau) and Josh Jooris, but their level of play is good and the coach has been satisfied with their work lately. One name that comes up often in discussion is the player who's repeatedly been a healthy scratch: Devin Setoguchi. A future Norris winner? One of the hottest players in the league right now is the 31-year-old defencemen, Dennis Wideman. He has scored in four straight games and has 8 points in 12 outings. Until last Sunday, he was leading all NHL defencemen with five goals. Enough of the breakaways: let's score! Calgary Flames forward Paul Byron has had a lot of chances on breakaways so far this season. The problem is that he didn't score on any of those breakaways.  Every Flames fan enjoys how Byron is playing with speed and passion, but the forward has to get some goals out of it. Can they be more productive at home? Coming off a red hot road trip which the the Flames win four of six, Flames Coach Bob Hartley told reporters: “It’s important that we take advantage of this homestand. If we don’t, what’s the sense of going 4-2 on the road?” The Flames must collect points at home. Period. Credits image: stylefavor.com
