From asking for a trade after the Canucks signed Ryan Miller, to being sent down to AHL and being shopped around to now making the AHL All Star game and being named Co-MVP.
Markstrom has played some great hockey for the Utica Comets (Canucks AHL affiliate). He has played 19 games and has posted a 12-5-2 record with a 1.98 G.A.A. and .930 save %.
Markstrom will become a restricted free agent at the end of the year and with his current play, he has been taken off the trade market and it seems like he has worked himself back into favor with the Canucks. We will obviously see how all of this plays out, considering the Canucks went through a similar goaltending situation recently, but having depth at such an important position is NEVER a bad thing.
