So far this season, Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Clarkson has not been suspended or injured. He has played in each Leaf's game and has three goals and one assist. He is currently playing on the team's second line with James Van Riemsdyk and Tyler Bozak. In a pre-season game, he got into a fight with Buffalo's Cody McCormick and suffered a broken orbital bone. Since then, he's been wearing a full-facial shield. This shield could be one of the reason for his recent success. With it, he can't afford to engage in all kind of fights. This is what Clarkson had to say on this matter: “I didn’t wear the fishbowl my whole career coming into this season — this is my first year wearing it. And everything’s gone well for me up to last year, which I’ve put behind me and got ready for what’s ahead.” Let's hope the steady play of David Clarkson can continue.
