The NHL have finally decided to give the Kings some good news regarding this whole crazy situation with Slava Voynov. The NHL has decided to take his 4.16 Million dollar salary cap off the books for the time being until all of this can be worked out. Here is the official statement from the NHL: The National Hockey League announced today that the existing terms of its suspension of Los Angeles Kings’ Player Slava Voynov will be continued indefinitely. However, in light of the uncertain and potentially extended period of time that the legal process may entail, the NHL and NHLPA have agreed to permit the Kings to replace Mr. Voynov’s Salary and Bonuses pursuant to the Bona Fide Long-Term Injury Exception under the terms of the NHL/NHLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. This should make Dean Lombardi happy. He has been very upset with how the financial part of this saga has been dealt with. Even Coach Darryl Sutter has made comment on how much Drew Doughty has had to play with the fact the Kings were unable to call up player and even had to play without a full roster. Now the Kings can breathe a little more, especially Drew Doughty.
