In one of the most creative displays of fandom ever seen at a hockey game, the Missouri Mavericks of the ECHL held a Star Wars night on Friday. The Mavericks faced off against the Brampton Beast and the Mavericks donned possibly the most epic jerseys to ever see the ice. They were complete with Darth Vader on the front and Stormtroopers and Yoda on the sleeves.
But the jerseys were just the beginning as fans were encouraged to dress in costume for the occasion. What followed was a truly a sight to see as characters from the classic movie were reincarnated before the game.
The Mavericks’ Star Wars threads will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds going to a local non-profit organization.
One thing is for certain, the force is strong with these fans!
