While controversy surrounds Patrick Roy’s resignation from his head coaching role with the Colorado Avalanche, the organization’s hunt for a replacement continues.

 

Initially, reports stated that four primary candidates could potentially fill the hole left behind by Roy. NHL.com states that that number has now been increased to ten.

 

Lane Lambert (assistant coach, Capitals), Scott Arniel (associate coach, Rangers), Travis Green (coach, Utica), Jared Bednar (coach, Cleveland), Bob Boughner (assistant coach, Sharks), Kevin Dineen (assistant coach, Blackhawks), Davis Payne (assistant coach, Kings), Paul MacLean (assistant coach, Ducks), Bob Hartley (former Flames coach), and David Quinn (coach, Boston University) are the names that are rumoured to be in the run.
