10 players receive game misconducts in the 3rd period.

All hell broke loose at the end of the third period between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres.

National Hockey League referees Gord Dwyer and TJ Luxmore shut down any attempts at a brawl very quickly on Saturday night.

Things almost turned very ugly between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres during the final seconds of their game on Saturday night when all hell broke loose between the two teams.

It would be a hit from Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin on Maple Leafs defenseman TJ Brodie that would start the hostilities between the two teams, hostilities that briefly got out of control. Dwyer and Luxmore would initially struggle to reign in the players who looked liked they wanted to brawl despite no real fights breaking out on the ice.

Punches were thrown and players ignored the commands from the two referees, which likely resulted in both Dwyer and Luxmore being fairly frustrated with what was going on late in the game. It was enough for the two referees to toss all 10 players that were on the ice out of the game, awarding all of them a 10 minute misconduct.

The decision sent a clear message that the two officials weren't going to be putting up with anymore nonsense during what little time remained on the game clock.
