Involving 11 teams and Vegas might get in the mix.
Since the start of free agency, many players have agreed to sign professional tryouts in the NHL. Cap Friendly publishes a daily update on their website of all PTOs entering training camp later this month, and are now up to 19 players under professional try-out deals.
This is the current list of players that will attempt to crack an NHL roster, per Cap Friendly:
Zack Kassian is set to try out at the Anaheim Ducks’ training camp and could add a veteran presence and leadership to a younger dressing room.
On Friday, there were rumours that the Vegas Golden Knights could became the 12th team in the league to add a player on PTO. According to Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, Maxime Comtois could be signed to a professional tryout in Vegas in the near future.
This has been a busy offseason when it comes to PTOs and there is still time for free agents to land the chance to crack an NHL roster for the 2023-24 season.
