2019 1st overall pick Jack Hughes claims he gained 15 pounds during quarantine

According to a report from New Jersey Devils insider Amanda Stein, Devils sophomore and 2019 1st overall pick Jack Hughes claims he has gained nearly 15 pounds of muscle this elongated offseason.

Yowza... that's a lot of beef.

To be fair though, Hughes clearly needed to bulk up after his rookie season. He's currently listed at just 5 foot, 11 inches and 170 pounds. He's as slight as they come and the extra 14 pounds should serve him well. He got tossed around a bit in his rookie year and it resulted in a disappointing seven goal and 21 point season for the teenager. 

Here's hoping the kid can throw his weight around a bit in 2021 and help get this Devils team back on track.
