The Buffalo Sabres might have managed to pull off the biggest trade of the season so far by moving former captain Jack Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights, more transactions could be coming.

The same could be said about the Columbus Blue Jackets as 21 scouts attended Monday night’s game between the two teams in Buffalo.

And both the Jackets and Sabres showed up in an intense contest that ended in Columbus’ favour, winning 7-4 over Buffalo.

21 teams were present to watch the players closely and here is the list of scouts that were in attendance:

Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, Winnipeg Jets, Dallas Stars, Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, New Jersey Devils, San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks and Montreal Canadiens.

It had been a while that we’d seen so many scouts present at one game, because of the pandemic and travel restrictions. However, where there is smoke, there is fire and we wonder what teams are shopping for.

According to Blue Jackets insider Aaron Portzline of The Athletic, there is chatter that goalie Joonas Korpisalo and froward Max Domi could be making their way out of team soon, and so we could see why rival clubs would want to take a better look at them.

Last night, Korpisalo made 29 saves fresh off a two-game West Coast trip to give the Blue Jackets their third victory in four games, while Domi recorded a goal and two assists.

If both players keep showing up at games in which many scouts are attending, we could see a trade happening.
