After completing his first full National Hockey League season 24-year-old forward Brett Ritchie is cashing in.

According to a report from Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press, Ritchie has agreed to terms on a new deal with the Dallas Stars, one worth a total of $3.5 million dollars. It's a two-year deal for Ritchie which means his contract carries an average annual value and cap hit of $1.75 million per season.

Ritchie is coming off 78 regular season games with the Stars in the 2016-2017 season, and he recorded 16 goals and 8 assists for 24 points over that stretch. Ritchie was an unrestricted free agent this summer and will be once again at the end of this current deal.
