The Winnipeg Jets have placed 29 year old centerman Dominic Toninato on waivers today after he has appeared in 15 games for them this season. Toninato has 1 goal and 4 assists on the season for a total of 5 points and currently boasts a plus minus rating of +7.
Toninato carries an affordable cap hit of $775,000 and is locked in at that price for an additional year beyond this one, having signed a 2 year deal with the Jets in April of 2023.
The New Jersey Devils have waived 28 year old centerman Max Willman after 13 games with the Devils this season. Wilman had 1 goal and 1 assist over that stretch for a total of 2 points, and he currently sits at a plus minus rating of +1 on the season.
Wilman also comes with a price tag of $775,000, but does not have an additional year of term on his current deal.
Perhaps the biggest news of the day in terms of waivers however comes from the Red Wings' decision to waive 27 year old centerman Nolan Stevens. The Red Wings are placing Stevens on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract, this after Stevens appeared in 31 games for their American Hockey League affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins this season. Stevens had 3 goals and 8 assists for a total of 11 points, but in spite of that it appears that the Red Wings are moving on.
