3 potential landing spots for Jonathan Toews' NHL return.
The legendary Blackhawks captain has hinted at an NHL return, here is where he might end up.
This is one story that I must admit I did not expect I would be covering this season.
In spite of the fact that it has been two seasons since we last saw legendary former Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews lace up his skates at the National Hockey League level, there are now rumblings that Captain Serious may very well be positioning himself for a return to the NHL.
This week NHL insider Frank Seravalli shared the latest on Toews push for an NHL comeback and alongside his update came the names of 3 teams that would have interest in seeing what Toews can still offer at this stage of his career.
"There's no shortage of teams whose interest peaked over the holidays," said Seravalli of Toews hinting at a potential return.
It sounds like Toews has already begun working towards that potential return with the former Blackhawks captain already hitting the ice as he prepares to make what will surely be his final run in the NHL.
"I can tell you that at this point, Jonathan Toews has indeed resumed skating," revealed Seravalli. "He's feeling the best that he has in years and he's also back down to his playing weight."
It sounds like there is still some question about whether or not Toews intends to jump back into the NHL this season or if his attempt at a comeback will wait until next season, but what is certain is that teams around the league are already paying close attention to this development.
"I'm told that multiple teams expressed interest in Toews' potential return to his agent in Pat Brisson from CAA Sports," added Seravalli.
The insider even named 3 teams he believes are worth keeping an eye on if Toews does indeed return to the NHL.
"One of them is the Toronto Maple Leafs... the other would be the Winnipeg Jets... and the third would be the Colorado Avalanche," revealed Seravalli.
Could you see Toews making a return ahead of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs? Would he be a fit for any of the teams mentioned by Seravalli? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
