A woman has been rescued by some unlikely heroes after a pretty bad wreck in the middle of the night between Friday and Saturday night. 4 hockey players from the Saint-Hyacinthe Battalion of Quebec's North American Hockey League were returning home after a match in Saint-Georges, Quebec when suddenly they were witnesses to a terrible accident.

"We were passed by a vehicle that was traveling at a very high rate of speed and a few meters later we could see that the driver had lost control of their vehicle and was zigzagging across the road," said Maxime St-Cyr, a forward for the Battalion, as per TVA Sports.

His description of how the incident came to an end however shows just how serious of a situation this was.

"At one point the vehicle was at a 90 degree angle and it slammed into the snow before flipping over completely," added St-Cyr.

As you can see from the photograph in this article, the vehicle was almost completely flipped over onto it's roof when it finally came to a stop.

Thankfully for the driver the 4 young men immediately jumped into action and went to her rescue, forgoing their own safety, eventually pulling her out of the car and bringing her back into their own vehicle to keep her safe and warm.

"Under the circumstances, things could have been much worse," said St-Cyr.

Thankfully it sounds like the driver somehow escaped the ordeal with minimal injuries, but you have to wonder what could have happened had the boys not been there in the middle of the night to pull her out of the wreck and dial 911.

As it turns out, the Saint-Hyacinthe Battalion is owned by former NHL player Guillaume Latendresse and he spoke glowingly of his players and their heroics over the weekend.

"We are extremely poroud of our players," said Latendresse. "They are fathers with families, hard workers, and our league strives to be close to our communities. This is an example of the kind of people that we have on our teams."
