41-year-old Brandon Prust signs new contract!

He’ll be back on ice with a new team. Full details below:

Former NHL forward Brandon Prust gave coaching a shot with the GOJHL Jr. B London Nationals this past season. After retiring from the NHL ahead of the 2017-18 campaign, Prust has remained in hockey, but apparently has missed the game too much that he has now signed a new contract to return to the ice and play again.

It has been confirmed that Prust has signed a deal and committed to the Strathroy Jets for the 2025-26 season.

‘The London, Ontario native brings a wealth of experience to our roster:
* 🏆 486 NHL games played
* 🔥 Played for the Flames, Rangers, Canadiens, and Canucks
* 🏒 Memorial Cup champion with the London Knights

With his grit, leadership, and pro pedigree, Prust is ready to make an impact right here at home. Let’s gooo! 💪”

The veteran of 486 NHL games and almost 750 in professional hockey is staying involved in his community and going back to his first love of playing the game.

As a coach in London, it was a roller coaster rookie season for Prust with wins, losses, and even suspensions, after he was ejected from one game last season for abusive and disrespectful language aimed at the referees.

Perhaps that’s when Prust realized he had a lot of pent-up energy left and could be a good addition to the Strathroy Jets this upcoming season.
