71 Players Waived On Gigantic Day Of Waivers Just Before The Season.

The National Hockey League is getting ready to start the 2026-27 regular season and that means that teams around the league are making their final adjustments to their rosters with the start of the season now just days away.

That means that just about every team is making tough decisions when it comes to their roster and we saw that in full effect on Sunday when a whopping 71 players were placed on waivers as those final roster adjustments come through.

There are a ton of notable players who have been waived including the likes of the likes of goaltenders Laurent Broissant, Ilya Samsonov and David Rittich, defensemen like Ilya Lyubushkin, and Ville Heinola, and forwards like Sam Lafferty and Colin Blackwell, but that's barely just scratching the surface.
