At the 2ETpm deadline on Friday, many players landed on waivers with a total of eight getting placed on the wire.

The New York Islanders placed a total of four players, including two of their first round picks in forwards Liam Foudy and Julien Gauthier. Back in June, the Isles had signed Foudy to a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract. The Columbus Blue Jackets selected Foudy in the first round (18th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft. He’s scored 22 career points (seven goals, 15 assists) In 104 NHL games with Columbus, the Nashville Predators and Islanders. Foudy also played 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games with Columbus in 2020, scoring a goal and an assist. He was signed as a free agent in New York in the summer of 2024.

As for Gauthier, he was a first round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2016. He had three goals and eight points in nine regular-season outings with AHL Bridgeport last year, and is once again expected to start 2025-26 in the minors.

The Islanders also placed defensemen Cole McWard and Travis Mitchell on the wire.

The Washington Capitals moved two of their players on waivers, placing defenseman Calle Rosen and winger Spencer Smallman on there.

After goalie Connor Ingram surprisingly cleared waiver for the Mammoth, Utah placed blue liner Kevin Connaughton on the wire on Friday.

The Blue Jackets for their part moved goalie Ivan Fedotov to the wire with the purpose of assigning him to the AHL.

Teams have until Saturday at 2ETpm to clear one of the available aforementioned players. If not, all will be re-assigned to respective AHL team.
