A disturbing update on Anthony Stolarz following Game 1

The Leafs' goaltender is reportedly alert in hospital this evening.

UPDATE 2: According to a report from NHL insider Chris Johnston, Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz left Scotiabank Arena this evening on a stretcher.

It's believed that Stolarz is alert in a local hospital.

From Johnston:


Stolarz left this evening's game in the 2nd period shortly after taking a knee to the head from Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett. Stolarz was seen vomiting into a bucket on the Leafs' bench just prior to being replaced by Joseph Woll.

UPDATE: Thanks to a video angle from Sportsnet, we can now see that Anthony Stolarz appeared to be vomiting on the Leafs' bench just prior to being replaced by Joseph Woll.

This just in, Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been replaced by backup Joseph Woll midway through the second period of tonight's action between the Leafs and Florida Panthers.

Stolarz took an elbow to the head from Panthers forward Sam Bennett and there's a belief that Stolarz could have been removed from the ice by the NHL's concussion spotter.
