A huge issue revealed for the Pens

Only a major trade can fix this...

One major problem has been exposed, more than ever, for the Pittsburgh Penguins, ever since star forward Evegni Malkin has been sidelined with an upper-body injury.

Pens general manager Jim Rutherford has not been able to replace the loss of Nick Bonino, to the Nashville Predators this summer, or even find a way to fill the holes left by the departures of forwards Matt Cullen and Chris Kunitz and top defenseman Trevor Daley

The summer trades only brought forth Ryan Reaves and Matt Hunwick, which has proven not to be enough for the defending champions.

After acquiring centre Riley Sheahan from the Detroit Red Wings, Rutherford is now looking for a better option to fix this huge issue. The Pens GM is said to be actively looking for a top forward, and trade chatter has mentioned he is looking at Tyler Bozak of the Toronto Maple Leafs

A lot of rival teams are also hunting down the market for help up front.

But clearly, this looks to be the only way for the Penguins to remedy the situation at centre.
