A ticket for Canada vs USA tomorrow night could cost you $60,000+

In case you missed it last night, Team Canada narrowly avoided disaster at the 2023 World Junior Championships.

Facing the much lower seeded Team Slovakia in the Quarter-Finals, Canada earned itself a 4-3 overtime victory to keep their tournament alive.

The Slovaks played one Hell of a game, refusing to buckle under the relentless pressure of team Canada. But in the end, it was the skill and determination from Canada that ended up making the difference.

This kid just keeps producing, even when the stakes are raised.

Incidentally, Bedard made history earlier in the game when he officially passed Eric Lindros as Canada's all-time leading scorer at the World Junior Championships.

The 17 year old forward scored this evening's opening goal in Canada's game against Slovakia to pass Lindros with 32 points in just 12 games to become his nation's all-time leader. 

Earlier this week The Big E encouraged Bedard to not only beat his record, but to smash it.

Now Canada will turn its focus to an opponent with a much higher pedigree: Team USA.

Canada and USA will play the tournament's second semi-final game, with Czechia and Sweden playing just before them. The winners of both games will go on to play in the gold medal game on Thursday.

But, here's the thing... if you want to see that semi-final game between Canada and USA, well... you better take out a second mortgage on your home. That's because scalpers are commanding as much as $64,000 for tickets.

In all seriousness, I hope to goodness that no one actually pays these prices. Lord knows that Hockey Canada hasn't earned our support right now, but that's kind of besides the point. The fact of the matter is that no sporting event is worth that amount of money... but that's easy for me to say with my sad little bank balance...
