Yeesh... maybe Stevie Y would like a do-over on that trade?
The John Gibson Era is off to an awful start in Detroit.
After years of sub-par goaltending holding back the Detroit Red Wings, GM Steve Yzerman made a big move this offseason in acquiring Gibson. Yzerman has tried so many options in goal since taking over in 2019, including Alex Nedelkjovic, Thomas Greiss, Ville Husso, James Reimer, Magnus Hellberg, Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon. Literally none of those goaltenders have been able to right the ship for the Red Wings, but there was hope amongst the team's fanbase that Gibson may finally be the ticket.
Well... think again.
Gibson was pulled after allowing five goals on just 13 shots in tonight's home opener against the Montreal Canadiens.
Yeesh...
Anyone know what that Fleury guy is up to? Can he be coaxed outta retirement?
