Adam Gaudette turns to crystals and sage burning in an effort to jumpstart his NHL career

It makes sense that the Blackhawks would need some witchcraft to turn things around.

According to a report yesterday from NHL insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, Chicago Blackhawks interim general manager Kyle Davidson is busy working the phone lines this week in an effort to deal forwards Dylan Strome and Adam Gaudette.

Check it out:

It would not be a surprise to see interim GM Kyle Davidson maintain the role for the balance of the season. There has been no shortage of internal support and confidence in Davidson, 33, who has held nearly every front office role over the 11 years he spent working his way up the ladder, starting when he first joined the team as an intern.

Davidson made the call to fire head coach Jeremy Colliton over the weekend. Davidson is the one who has been making and fielding calls with other managers over the last week in an attempt to shake up the roster, looking to move forwards Dylan StromeAdam Gaudette and others.

Blackhawks fans likely aren't surprised to see Strome's name mentioned here, given that he had fallen out of favor with both Colliton and Bowman early this season. Still, with a new GM and coach at the helm, I figured he might the chance for a fresh start. It appears though that that won't be the case.

As for Gaudette, he's been an absolute non-factor since being acquired by Bowman from the Vancouver Canucks last season. He has just two goals and six points in 14 games split between last season and this season. The former 2018 Hobey Baker Award winner as the NCAA's top player did manage a stellar 12 goals and 33 points in 59 games with the Canucks in 2019-20 however, proving that he has some offensive capability. Maybe a fresh start elsewhere would help him jumpstart his once promising career as well?

Gaudette informed Blackhawks insider Ben Pope though that he's not waiting around for a fresh start or anything else to jumpstart his career. He's taking matters into his own hands. How, you ask? Well... the 25 year old forward has turned to crystals and sage burning to turn around his luck.

Seriously...

Hmmm... interesting.

I'm not going to be the guy who tells Gaudette that this stuff is nonsense when it's clearly not hurting anyone but...

Well... maybe some extra laps at practice or some extra reps at the gym will have a better net positive effect than burning sage and rubbing amethyst crystals?
