Adam Lowry named as new captain of Winnipeg Jets
Thoughts? I thought for sure it would be Josh Morrissey.

This just in, the Winnipeg Jets have named Adam Lowry as the team's new captain.
Lowry, of course, takes over for long time Jets captain Blake Wheeler who was bought out of his contract earlier this offseason and who subsequently signed with the New York Rangers.
To say that fans are confused by Lowry's captain announcement would be the understatement of the week. Just check out some of these replies:
To me, Lowry is a fine player and likely a good choice for captain. I have no clue how that team operates behind the scenes and in the dressing room. Lowry may be the best captain in the NHL for all I know. But I also know that the likes of Josh Morrissey and Mark Scheifele were in the running and they're both much more recognizable players league-wide.
Thoughts, Jets fans?
