After 3 failed attempts, Bruins are finally ready to load up on the trade market!

The offseason didn’t go out how the Boston Bruins would have liked it to as they dealt with many failed attempts to bolster their roster. Bruins general manager Don Sweeney reportedly pursued John Tavares, Ilya Kovalchuk and Rick Nash in the summer and we all know how that went…

Well, you can be sure that now, the Bruins ready to load up ahead of the trade deadline.

Marisa Ingemi of The Boston Herald believes the Bruins are expected be in the trade market for a top-six winger and a third-line centre ahead of the trade deadline as the team is doing everything it can to hang on to their Atlantic Division playoff spot. They currently sit third in the Atlantic Division but are tied in points with their long-time rivals Montreal Canadiens.

The Bruins have $4.16 million available in cap space and have been long rumoured to be searching for a boost up front. Ingemi lists Philadelphia Flyers’ Wayne Simmonds, St. Louis Blues’ Brayden Schenn, Carolina Hurricanes’ Micheal Ferland, Ottawa Senators’ Mark Stone and Edmonton Oilers’ Jesse Puljujarvi among the “realistic options” for the Bruins ahead of the trade deadline.

The market is getting quite hot for Ferland, as TSN's Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger revealed last night that the Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks were also after the gritty forward.

The trade deadline is fast approaching and Sweeney might not want to waste time in order to help the Bruins stay strong and ready for a long playoff run.

The Bruins haven’t been lucky this season when it comes to injuries and some powerful depth up front could be necessary as the regular season calendar unfolds.

It remains to be seen what it would cost the Bruins to bring the needed offensive boost to Bean Town.
