It appears that head injuries may have played at least a part in claiming yet another NHL career. According to a report from the Tampa Bay News Watch NHL veteran Taylor Pyatt is calling it a career after over 800 games in the NHL. Pyatt himself admitted that concussions played a role in his decision.
“I had a few more injuries this year, a few more concussions. It’s just time for me to sort of step away. I’m proud of what I accomplished in my career, but now’s the time to take a little time away from the game and we’ll see,” said Pyatt
Pyatt spent time playing for several teams in the NHL including the Islanders, Sabres, Rangers, Coyotes and Penguins, but he his most successful years came as a member of the Vancouver Canucks. He ends his career after 859 games, in which he recorded 140 goals and 140 assists. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
