Agent for NHL captain Shane Doan answers questions about retirement rumors.

While many if not most have been expecting Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan to announce his retirement at some point this offseason, it doesn't sound like it's going to be coming.

Arizon Coyotes insider Craig Morgan recently had the chance to catch up with Terry Bross, the agent for Doan, and he asked him specifically about the rumors of Doan's impending retirement. While Bross wouldn't say anything definitively, the message here seems pretty clear.

“He hasn’t made a final decision, but I think he’s leaning toward playing one more year; I think he’s going to play,” Bross said as per Arizona Sports. “His body feels good, he loves the game and he loves the players.”

Doan has by all accounts been a consummate professional for the Coyotes, taking on a much reduced role this past season as the team attempts to develop it's much young players. If he is willing to do so once again it seems within the realm of possibility that the Coyotes would welcome him back, and if not perhaps a rival National Hockey League franchise would consider signing him.
