This just in, the NHL has suspended Tampa Bay Lightning forward Alex Killorn one game for his blindside hit on New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson.

Check it out:

Here is the hit in question:

Like I said last night when the hit occurred during the game, I'm not surprised that Killorn has been assessed a game for this hit. Frankly, I felt like the on-ice officials did a good job of handing Killorn the stiffest penalty that they possibly could in assessing him a five minute major and a game misconduct. Personally I felt that the league would go soft on Killorn and let him off with just a fine, but I'm not surprised at a one game suspension. I think we all knew that there was no way the league was going to give Killorn anything more than a one gamer.

In any case, Killorn will be forced to watch Game 3 from the press box as his Lightning look to take a 3-0 stranglehold over the Isles in their best of seven Eastern Conference Final.
