Disaster in goal with the season on the line for the Buffalo Sabres.
If you're wondering if there could have been any way for Buffalo Sabres goaltender Alex Lyon to have a worst start to Game 6 on Saturday night, the answer is quite literally no.
It was a complete catastrophe for Lyon in the opening period of Game 6 with the Sabres netminder finding himself chased from the net after just 3 shots on goal. Lyon would stop none of the shots that he faced in goal, allowing all 3 to beat him, recording what has to be one of the worst starts to an elimination game of all time.
Lyon finished the game with a .000 save percentage.
It was Canadiens enforcer Arber Xhekaj who would get the Canadiens on the board with their very first shot of the game, getting things off to a bad start for the Sabres with his first career Stanley Cup playoff goal.
Habs forward Ivan Demidov would pick up his second goal in two games on the second shot of the game.
Jakes Evans would put the final nail in the coffin when he recorded the Canadiens third goal of the game, this time while shorthanded.
