While we all bet Washington Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin would have preferred to have the chance to compete for another Stanley Cup, it was clear how happy he was to reunite with his family after spending a month in the bubble in Toronto.
Upon returning to Russia, where his wife Nastya Ovechkina and her two sons Sergei and Ilya have been for weeks already, Ovechkin was greeted by his oldest son who ran towards the car to see his father.
The two-year old is however holding a hockey stick, happy to get his buddy back to play and work on his shot. This is hilarious seeing that Ovi was eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round, but will have to play some more to please his son.
The kid is so adorable : how can he say no?
Ovechkin missed out on his Sergei’s birthday as he was still battling in the bubble in Toronto. The kid also showed off his new CCM hockey gear, which really makes him look like dad.
And now he has to get back to business!
