Alex Ovechkin scores his 1000th career point with a must goal against the Penguins!

It could of been the ugliest point of his career, the 1000th point milestone for Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin would have been amazing all on it's own, but it was anything but that.

Ovechkin brought his hometown fans to their feet when he scored a spectacular goal against the Penguins on Wednesday night, skating the puck over the blue line himself before using a great dangle to beat the Penguins defense and bury his 1000th point.

You couldn't have asked for a better moment on Wednesday night in the National Hockey League.
