Among the players that the New York Rangers acquired at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline was forward Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken, who look poised to miss the postseason after having qualified last season in just their second year of existence.
However, he will not be suiting up for the Rangers tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers. He was pulled out of the lineup at the last minute, but for a positive reason. According to reporter Dan Rosen, he and his wife are expecting the birth of their first child:
Wennberg will be replaced in the lineup by Jonny Brodzinski.
In the 69 games that Wennberg has played in this season split between the Kraken and Rangers, he's scored 10 goals with 19 assists.
