That's a wrap for the 29 year old goaltender?
Alexandar Georgiev has bounced around the NHL in recent years and now it appears that he might be bounced out of the league entirely.
The Buffalo Sabres placed Georgiev on waivers last week and assigned him to the AHL's Rochester Americans. Now there are reports that Georgiev is headed back to the KHL.
The Sabres picked him up on a league minimum contract after an absolutely dreadful season split between the San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche. While he provided the team with a cheap option, he simply hasn't been up to NHL level in a couple years now, so it's no surprise that he's considering heading over to the KHL.
The Bulgarian-born Russian netminder actually hasn't played in the KHL before but his rights are owned by Spartak Moscow.
Stay tuned.
