All 13 coaches who received votes for the Jack Adams award.
A full breakdown of every NHL coach who received a vote for this year's Jack Adams award.
The National Hockey League has announced the winner of the 2025 Jack Adams Award with Washington Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery receiving the nod as many had expected for several months now.
Of course when it comes to award season in the NHL there is usually plenty of debate around who deserves to win and who got snubbed, and this year will be no exception when it comes to the Jack Adams. In fact there were a significant number of first place votes that went to a candidate other than Carbery this year which makes this one an interesting point of discussion to be sure.
In total 13 coaches would receive votes with Carbery winning by a comfortable margin with his 464 total points, although it is noteworthy that the Winnipeg Jets' Scott Arniel received a very respectable 249 points for leading the Jets to the president's trophy during the regular season. We see a significant drop off after first and second place however with third place Martin St. Louis of the Montreal Canadiens receiving a total of just 66 points.
Perhaps the most interesting name on the list for myself personally however was that of Jim Montgomery, a coach that was quite literally fired by the Boston Bruins in the middle of the regular season. The Bruins would continue to freefall down the standings after Montgomery was fired however and the St. Louis Blues, who quickly hired Montgomery after he was fired by Bruins, went on an incredible run to just barely squeeze into the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs. The combination of those two factors suggest to me that Montgomery did deserve the votes he received, but an interesting scenario nonetheless to see a coach who got fired receive so many votes.
