All hell breaks loose at the end of Game 1!
All hell breaks loose between the Jets and Blues with only seconds left in the game.
You just had a feeling this was coming with the way this game played out.
Game 1 of the opening round series between the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues is now officially in the books with the Jets taking a 5-3 win over the Blues, but it wasn't without some rough stuff late in the game.
The game was a physical battle between these two teams but late in the third period the Jets would begin to run away with the game, especially after they added an insurance goal after the Blues made the decision to pull goaltender Jordan Binnington out of the net in order to put a 6th skater on the ice.
When it became clear that the Jets were going to walk away with the win, the Blues decided to send a message in the dying seconds of the third period. On two separate occasions the play would come to a halt as a result of the extracurricular activities on the ice, with several players penalized and sent to the locker room early as the referees struggled to maintain control of this one late.
There was definitely a sense that there is already some bad blood between these two teams after just a single game in this series, and that could mean we are in store for some more physical and exciting games as this series rolls on. Here's a look at a clip of the rough stuff that occurred with only seconds remaining in the game:
