We are a little less than one month away from the upcoming National Hockey League All-Star Game, and it has become tradition in recent years for the league to spice up All- Star Weekend with some whacky events ahead of the game itself.

It sounds very much like that will be the case again this year, with some rumors even suggesting that there may be alligators involved, but there will also be some more tame events as well. One such event will reportedly draw inspiration from hit Adam Sandler movie 'Happy Gilmore' a movie in which a failed hockey player goes on to have great success on the golf course.

Here's the latest on that potential event from NHL insider Jeff Marek:

"Many of you watching and hearing this one will say 'Oh this is Happy Gilmore all over again', there will be some type of hybrid golf-hockey event," confirmed Marek on Hockey Night in Canada.

The Happy Gilmore inspired event appears to be a done deal while things like the inclusion of alligators have yet to be confirmed. Marek did hint at one other unconfirmed event that sounds like it could be a lot of fun, but it also sounds like the players might have a say in whether or not it actually happens.

"The idea of a dunk tank on the beach and the way this would work... one of them would have two dunk tanks beside each other," said Marek on Saturday night. "A number of targets, two player teams, you hit all your targets and the player gets dunked or vice versa."

Marek did admit however that this one might not make an appearance, but we will have to wait and see.

"I love the idea, I'm not so sure that a lot of the players will go for it," admitted Marek. "I think some of them will."
